The Development Coordinator will work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and grow the LTA fundraising and marketing strategies. The candidate will be an important member of a dynamic team whose goal is to help the organization meet its overall mission. The candidate will have varied responsibilities including (but not limited to):
Development Strategy: Work with the Chief Operating Officer to further the organization's fundraising strategy focusing on donor relations.
Identifying and reaching out to potential new donors
Communicating and strengthening relationships with current donors through email solicitations, thank you notes, phone calls and in person
Helping to build and support LTA regional chapters
Maintaining donor related data entry,
The Development Coordinator will be responsible for all fundraising events.
Tasks may include (but are not limited to) event agenda creation, event theme management, donor relationship development, event and marketing material preparation and distribution, presentation management, guest list creation and management, food and beverage, on-site logistics, event set up and tear down attendee sign in, and post-event follow-up, as needed. Delegate tasks to the Event Planning staff/volunteers as needed in order to increase efficiency and balance workload.
Work with the Chief Operating Officer to enhance LTA marketing efforts including Quarterly Newsletter, press releases, website content, email blasts, and LTA's Annual Report.
Performing other duties, as needed.
A minimum of 4 years professional experience in the non-profit development arena
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in related fields (Communications, English, Marketing, Science, and Business) desired. Masters preferred.
A passion for the organization and its mission.

Outstanding organizational skills with unprecedented attention to detail and demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects simultaneously, while working effectively under last minute deadlines and changing priorities.
Self-motivated, taking initiative and functioning effectively, both independently and as a member of a closely knit team, with a willingness to assist senior management and colleagues with routine and last minute projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with inside and outside the organization including -- donors, patients, scientists, vendors, consultants, etc).
Strong interpersonal, customer service and negotiating skills, as well as outstanding problem solving capabilities.
A positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that all projects are completed successfully and in a timely manner.

Strong skills in working with and exporting data from donor management databases for analytic purposes.
Strong skills in working with Microsoft Office applications.
Entrepreneurial office environment with frequent project deadlines. Work requires working as a team and may entail working late or on weekends, and/or traveling to conferences, seminars, summits, trade shows -- etc (no more than fifteen percent (40%) travel expected).
